Challenge
In addition to significantly reducing floor storage space, the solution needed to efficiently and automatically feed production lines located on two floors while reducing crossing times.
Solution
The proposed solution included the design and implementation of an automated warehouse and material handling system, starting from the supply of a self-supporting racking structure, along with mechanical components, electrical installation for command control, and automation software interfaced with the customer’s WMS.
Self-supporting racking.
Stacker cranes: managing 5/6 pallets in multi-depth channels via battery-powered satellite devices.
Material handling system: weight and dimension control upon entry, roller/chain conveyors, lifting and rotating tables for pallet deviation, elevators, and sorting shuttles.
Optimized management: supervision software (LogiCON, LogiTRASP) integrated with the company’s WMS.
Key technical data
Warehouse height: approx. 22.5 meters.
Aisles: 2 aisles, each with a stacker crane equipped with a satellite device.
Aisle length: approx. 45 meters.
System performance: 60 pallets per hour inbound and 60 pallets per hour outbound.
Managed goods type: 1 aisle for raw materials and 1 aisle for packaging.
