Challenge

The palletizing system had been installed for five years but had never operated automatically. The robot frequently triggered alarms and failed to perform its function.

Solution

Following a detailed analysis of the area, we identified anomalies that prevented proper system operation:
  • Lightened the robot setup.
  • Replaced the handling system, which was too heavy for a 12 kg payload robot.
  • Optimized programming to enhance the carton interlayer system.
  • Removed the robot’s paint and applied a zinc coating for better rust protection.

Key technical data

  • Lightweight handling system.
  • The robot operates automatically, albeit at the limits of its capacity.
  • System performance: When continuously fed, it places 7 boxes per minute.
  • Managed goods type: 4 box formats with different weights.
