Challenge
The main requirement of the customer was to achieve an adequate level of service for Maintenance and Assistance. Additionally, there was the obsolescence of the plant’s automation and control system; Additional requirement: verify the safety level and, if necessary, adapt it to the regulations; It was not possible to have a plant shutdown lasting more than two weeks
Solution
- Initially, an engineering activity was carried out to define the specifications and record the performance of individual devices
- Partial tests were performed on individual machines with micro-stops over the weekends and subsequent restart in production
- Offline tests were performed for the replacement of WCS, WMS, and for the interface with the company ERP
- The switch from the old to the new LCS system was carried out during a single two-week shutdown, during which electromechanical upgrades were made to stackers, shuttles, and the conveyor system
- At the electrical and software level, LCS standards were implemented. This allowed achieving the desired level of service for the Post-Sales phase
- Risk analysis: criticalities in terms of safety were identified and modifications to the plant were defined and implemented to comply with current regulations

- Warehouse with internal shelving for Eur pallets, with a storage capacity of 1,800 pallets
- No. 3 single-depth stackers
- No. 1 two-level conveyor system
- No. 2 motorized shuttles on rails for interconnections of the conveyor system
