Challenge

Modernize the control system hardware (Server, Client, and No. 33 PLC) and software (WMS, WCS) minimizing plant downtime in an automatic long-bar warehouse with significant storage capacity.

Solution

Through step-by-step interventions to minimize plant downtime, all control system hardware (servers in hot back-up configuration) including the switches of the complex field network connecting the 33 Siemens PLCs (which were upgraded to the 1500 series) were replaced. Maintaining all pre-existing functional characteristics, the PLC and control system software was rewritten, implementing improvements shared with the customer.

Structure: Warehouse for bundles of long bars with Bridge Crane Stackers, overhead sorters, shuttles, elevators, conveyors
Performance: the LogiWare WMS allows maximizing plant performance and enables different operational configurations depending on scenarios
Integrated management: management and supervision software (LogiWARE, LogiCON, LogiTRASP) integrated with the company system
