Challenge
Lima Corporate needed to increase the speed of order processing after the picking phase.
Solution
The proposal included the design and implementation of a material handling system to direct picked pieces from the picking phase to the sorting system for shipment orders, starting from mechanical components, including:
- Slat conveyor: type of conveyor used for moving pieces in the picking phase
- RFID tunnel: reader for internally produced item codes
- Portal with 5 barcode readers: reader for item codes from suppliers
- Piece sorting: sorter with 10 motorized push-out exits + 1 unread item bay
- Optimized management: supervision software (LogiCON, LogiTRASP) integrated with the company’s WMS
Key technical data
- System performance: 1,200 pieces per hour
- Sorter length: 10.5 meters
- Handling of small-sized packages: 85×113 mm
