Challenge

Fabert, a company producing clothing for third parties, needed an automatic system to check for the presence of the barcode label on garments, count the items, and associate them with the orders in progress. Manual operations caused errors and inefficiencies.

Solution

LCS developed and implemented an automatic system consisting of:
  • Two parallel automatic lines
  • Box loading stations
  • Transport system
  • Barcode reader or RFID reading system
  • Manual boxing stations with weighing system
  • Management via LogiCon software connected to Fabert’s ERP
  • Guaranteed order traceability and accuracy

Key technical data

  • Two parallel automatic lines
  • Barcode and RFID reading
  • Weighing system
  • Management via LogiCon software
  • Capacity to handle 2000 garments/day in 8 hours

Fabert, a well-established company with over 40 years of experience in contract manufacturing of men’s and women’s apparel, has taken a major step toward technological innovation to optimize internal processes and respond more efficiently to the demands of the competitive fashion industry.

In collaboration with LCS, Fabert has implemented a customized automated system for the control and management of garments destined for shipment—a high-performance solution that ensures traceability, precision, and a high level of automation throughout the process. This project marks a qualitative leap for the company, integrating technology, logistics, and software into a single, synergistic system.

The system consists of two parallel lines, each equipped with:

  • Garment loading stations
  • Conveyor belts
  • Barcode or RFID readers
  • Manual packing stations with integrated weighing systems

At the core of the system is LogiCon, LCS’s proprietary software, which interfaces in real time with Fabert’s ERP system. This integration enables automated management of order data, garment codes, weights, and quantities—eliminating manual input, reducing errors, and increasing process reliability.

How It Works

Garments arrive ironed and bagged, each with a unique barcode. The operator selects a predefined shipping list via a PC station, applying filters such as tag type, season, or other relevant parameters.

  • On Line 1, garments are loaded onto the conveyor and scanned. If the barcode matches the shipping list criteria, the item proceeds to weighing and packing. If not, it is diverted for manual removal.
  • On Line 2, a 3-meter RFID tunnel reads all tags in a carton simultaneously, verifying that the contents match the order. This bulk scanning method is faster and ideal for high-volume operations.

The adoption of RFID technology showcases Fabert’s commitment to modernizing its logistics and enhancing service standards.

Real-Time Data and ERP Integration

LogiCon records every operation:

  • Number of garments scanned
  • Individual and total carton weight
  • Association with the shipping order

All data is sent directly to Fabert’s ERP, updating order status, shipment preparation, and inventory. This continuous digital flow ensures reliable monitoring and supports data-driven analysis.

Key Benefits for Fabert

  • Significant reduction in human error, especially in critical shipping phases
  • Complete and reliable garment traceability
  • Increased productivity during peak seasons
  • Improved order management speed and accuracy
  • Enhanced service quality and customer satisfaction

In conclusion, the system developed by LCS for Fabert is a model of successful digital transformation in the fashion sector. Through RFID scanning, automated transport, and integrated software, Fabert has taken a decisive step toward modern, precise, and sustainable logistics, positioning itself to meet future industry challenges with confidence.
