Challenge

One of the main challenges was to make the most of the available space in the client’s new building by installing racking systems for boxes and pallets of various sizes and weights, maximizing warehouse capacity. Accurate control management during material receiving and shipping, high movement and rotation of items, and their compacting to optimize space.

Solution

The proposal included the design and implementation of an automated warehouse and material handling system starting from the supply of indoor racking. This included not only mechanical components but also electrical installation for the control part, automation supervision software, and WMS management software integrated with the client’s company system.
  • Cantilever shelving for boxes for the automated warehouse
  • Pallet racking for the automated warehouse and manual warehouses
  • Stacker cranes: Managing plastic boxes using double telescopic fork devices in single-depth configuration
  • Stacker cranes: Managing pallets using telescopic fork devices in double-depth configuration
  • Material handling system: Weight and dimension control at entry, 24V motorized roller conveyors, 24V box diverters, elevators for connection to the picking area on the second floor, and descenders to the shipping area.
  • Put to Light system for managing picking and shipping orders
  • Handheld devices for managing receiving, shipping, refilling, merging, querying, and storage orders
  • Optimized management: Supervision software (LogiCON, LogiTRASP) integrated with the WMS (LogiMHS, LogiPalm).

Key technical data

  • Warehouse height: approximately 10 meters
  • System performance: 320 boxes per hour in input and 320 boxes per hour in output. 27 pallets per hour in input and 27 pallets per hour in output.
  • Receiving and entry bays: 12 bays for receiving and entry of goods and 1 bay for pallet receiving and entry.
  • Boxes warehouse= 19200 UdC
  • Pallet warehouse= 1020 UdC
